The ReMY rover is mainly used in our project, but not only. In the previous post you could read about the fact that two local schools have bought the robot for educational purposes - in ABM we have developed the possibility of programming them independently.
We are also constantly looking for niches in which the robot can be embedded. Drones are used in various industries, why not rovers?
For instance- army, police or other public services. The robot can be used to patrol urban areas where there are no monitoring cameras, to detect intruders, and to alert. What is more, cooperating with drones (which cannot reach everywhere) can collect valuable intelligence.
Another example is speleological and archaeological research. Small vehicles with cameras are already used for this kind of exploration. ReMY would be great for that. Narrow and low tunnels - natural or artificially hollowed - which are a difficult or impossible barrier for a man, is the perfect place to use a rover. Robots in the world also serve as museum guides. Toruń is a tourist city, full of old tenement houses and basements. We already have a great idea how to make sightseeing more interesting with the use of our robots. The first demonstrations are coming soon, and today we have started tests!
These are just a few examples. The possibilities are limited only by imagination. In just a few years it may turn out that all dogs from the area will be taken for walks by the universal and multifunctional ReMY rovers :).
