The first iteration of the ReMY rover was created in 2015/2016. From the very beginning, the concept was based on a manipulator and a mast with a navigation camera placed centrally on the vehicle - despite the visual and functional changes in each subsequent version of the robot, it has never changed :)
The rounded shape and antennas of the cameras gave ReMY I an interesting, insect-like look. The blue color, which can be seen in the picture, was intentional and necessary for the proper operation of the whole system. Without revealing the secrets - this color was unique on the scale of the entire model and the rover, which is why it was easily distinguishable by the positioning algorithms developed by ABM.
The next ReMY was designed and constructed between the first and the second edition of the competition. A more massive, more extensive construction was dictated by a very mundane reason - in ReMY I there was little room for electronics. Antennas have also been turned into thicker ones. The suspension has changed dramatically, which is perfectly reflected in the photos. In this case, instead of evolution, there was a revolution.
The upper part of the robot was divided into three segments, of which the middle one was movable, which made the access to the interior of the rover much easier.
Another edition - another rover :) This time the project went towards simplicity and edges instead of streamlined shapes. The manipulator and mast were placed centrally. A lot of improvements have been made to the construction of the manipulator and suspension, which cannot be seen "on the exterior" and which have influenced their strength and efficiency.
